American Indian Program

The State of Minnesota expects that each district that serves more than 10 students to facilitate an American Indian Parent Advisory Committee.  This group partners with district representatives to develop and implement a plan to best serve American Indian students in the Hastings school district.

As of the 2021-22 School Year, Indian Education plans must support the following goals areas:
  • Support the Postsecondary Preparation for American Indian Pupils
  • Support the Academic Achievement of American Indian Pupils
  • Make Curriculum Relevant to the Needs, Interests, and Cultural Heritage of American Indian Pupils
  • Provide Positive Reinforcement of the Self-Image of American Indian Pupils
  • Develop Intercultural Awareness Among Pupils, Parents, and Staff
