Hastings Public SchoolsISD #200

Hastings School District #200 is participating in Smart Choices – a healthy eating initiative in Dakota County. The Hastings Smart Choices Committee is working to increase access to healthy and appealing foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, and reduce access to less healthy foods, such as soft drinks.
The health of students is linked to their academic performance in school. Smart Choices supports the health of students and staff by creating an environment that encourages healthy food choices.

The Hastings Smart Choices Committee meets four times a year during the school year at McAuliffe Elementary. Members include representation from all district building sites, parents, and community members. Persons wishing to help with this initiative may contact chair Mary Ellen Fox.
